RECON / EQUIPMENT CHECKLIST

Budget for the rifle and the glass.

A rifle optic and a spotting tool do different jobs. Price them separately, and check which unlocks you have actually purchased.

Recon level 12, $8,000 in the bank

Keep $2,000 in reserve and set a $3,000 kit limit. With no paid unlocks, one starter Recon option is a Scout Rifle TD, 30 extra 5.56 FMJ rounds, Binoculars, a bandage, one Emergency Resuscitator and a Scout Backpack. The planned total is $1,770, leaving $6,230.

If you already purchased the Range Finder and 3x-6x LPVO unlocks, replace the Binoculars and fit that scope: the same example becomes $2,955, leaving $5,045. Both fit the $3,000 deployment limit. These examples use the catalog’s ten-round 5.56 purchase unit; confirm vendor quantities in-game.

Meeting level 12 alone does not make those upgrades affordable. Their combined unpaid unlock fees are $30,000, before buying any gear. The SKS and SVD also have separate weapon unlock fees. Mark only the unlocks you have bought in the kit finder.

Spotting tools are separate from scopes

  • Binoculars: basic spotting; low magnification.
  • Monocular: spotting; medium variable magnification.
  • Range Finder: spotting; high variable magnification and distance readings.

Automatic role kits keep one spotting tool, replacing Binoculars when an affordable upgrade is available. Custom builds may use no spotting tool or carry more than one; the checklist suggests Binoculars without treating them as mandatory. The reviewed descriptions do not establish a battery requirement for these three devices, so this release does not add one.

Choose an optic you can afford to replace

The reviewed 3x-6x LPVO costs $860 per purchase after a $15,000 Recon level 11 unlock. The 6-10x MRAD costs $1,200 after a $40,000 Recon level 18 unlock. The kit finder tries these two options in order of total cost, including unpaid fees, and only adds a compatible option within your budget.

Neither is required to use a rifle. Higher magnification is not an automatic upgrade for every fight. The records describe slower aim-down-sight handling for both. Other catalog optics remain available in the custom builder; this review is not a ranking of every scope.

Match the full ammunition designation

The Scout Rifle TD uses 5.56x45mm. The SKS uses 7.62x39mm; the Mosin Nagant, SVD and SV98 use 7.62x54mm in the catalog. “7.62” alone is not enough to choose a round. The builder filters ammunition by weapon and clears fitted attachments when you change the primary.

The Recon panel makes the selected primary’s ammo and optic compatibility visible. Spare ammo is a separate purchase; a zero extra-ammo count does not tell us what the vendor includes with the gun.

What remains unverified?

This is a community-record review, not a live-game test. Vendor ammo quantities, included attachments, prerequisite purchases, exact inventory fit, spotting XP payouts and real combat performance still need checking. The source labels some bolt-action rifles “Semi-auto” in generic stat fields; we do not use those fields to make firing-mode or time-to-kill claims here.

See the Recon XP and unlock table, compare equipment in the tools section, or read the data policy.
