M4 or AK74? Prices, stats and unlocks
A closer look at two rifles, including what you pay to unlock them and what each replacement costs.
Purchase price and base stats
The community database lists the M4 at $2,800 and the AK74 at $1,600 per purchase. Their listed fire rates are 800 and 650 RPM, respectively. Both have an effective range of 500 metres. The M4 costs $1,200 more each time you buy another one.
Those figures are useful for a comparison, but they do not settle which rifle you will prefer. Base damage does not account for armor, range or hit location. The site has no independent recoil tests or win-rate data.
What you need to unlock them
The reported AK74 requirement is Assault level 3 and a $10,000 unlock fee. The M4 requires Assault level 20 and a $100,000 unlock fee. The fee is paid separately from buying the weapon for a match.
If you have $2,800 but have not unlocked the M4, that cash alone will not give you access. The progression planner keeps the level requirement, unlock fee and purchase price separate.
Compare them with the same kit
Keep your armor, medical gear and utilities the same when comparing two builds. That makes it easier to see how much the rifle and its attachments change the total.
Try the optic and ammo you actually intend to use. Note anything that bothers you about handling, then change one part at a time. The comparison table is a starting point; it cannot tell you how a rifle will feel in your hands.
