Planning a FOB with your squad
Sketch a layout, check it against the terrain, and count the resources you need before building.
What is the base for?
A chokepoint defense and a logistics stop need different layouts. Agree on the purpose first, then mark the approach, cover, friendly entrance and a way out. The presets are ideas to work from, not tested blueprints.
For a logistics stop, leave room to arrive, unload and leave. For a defensive position, check what teammates can see and shoot past from behind the cover you want to place.
The grid is a sketch
The planner’s eight-by-eight grid shows where structures sit relative to one another. It is not measured in metres and does not check terrain, building size, placement radius or construction rules. Walk the location in-game before spending resources.
Structure names come from community records. The Sandbag Wall record says it does not require a FOB. That does not mean the same rule applies to every other structure in the planner.
Enter the resource costs from your game
After placing structures, enter the current cost of one of each type. The planner multiplies it by the number placed. A blank cost stays unknown, so a partial total is not the full resource requirement.
Use the same unit for every entry. Tools, transport, ammunition and resupply are extra. Share the layout link with your squad once you have checked the numbers so everyone is looking at the same plan.
